Our service is free to you. We have pre-negotiated contracts with hundreds of healthcare facilities nationwide. Our clients pay us a small finder’s fee, but that does not affect your candidacy in any way. It’s a win-win. You land your dream job, and our client hires a great candidate they wouldn’t have found on their own.
Yes. You can work with multiple agencies, but it is in your best interest to work exclusively with one. It can become confusing to keep track of the different locations you are being submitted to when you work with more than one agency. We suggest picking one agency that has the type of service from a recruiter you feel comfortable with and has the job opportunities you are seeking.
If you’re ready to work, we’re ready to find you a job. Just like any position, you have to interview well to get an offer. Our turnaround time is very quick if the situation is right.
There may be a time when the location you want or the type of position you are looking for is unavailable in a given area. Unfortunately, we do not create the positions at facilities and can’t always predict when or where an opportunity will open up. As an alternative, we can keep you posted on specific opportunities as they become available. You can also set up automatic text and email alerts to be notified of new openings matching your criteria.
We work to build long-term relationships, not transactional ones. This means our first goal is to make you happy with the career opportunities we offer. Since our fees are typically based on your negotiated salary, it’s in our best interest to negotiate a top package for you. We are skilled at negotiations and know what drives our clients’ pay scales.
We provide you with the necessary resources to easily obtain a license in another state. Whenever you are ready to get started, we will guide you through the steps you’ll need to take. No matter where you want to be licensed in the U.S., we’ve got you covered.
Salary ranges vary depending on the level of demand for a specific profession, specialty, or location. The income of a traveling healthcare professional is often much higher than a full-time professional in the same position.
If you have been injured on the job, contact Medcor immediately at 1-800-775-5866. A specially trained RN is available 24/7 to assist you every step of the way. Medcor will accurately assess your needs and direct your call to the appropriate off-site area if needed.
For all life-threatening emergencies, go to the emergency room or call 911.
We are responsible for the payment and processing of taxes, insurance, and worker compensation costs for all contract professionals employed with us. We also offer a generous benefits package including: health/dental/life insurance; a 401(k) program; licensure and certification reimbursement; free, private housing; and paid travel expenses.
No. Your application simply provides us with the necessary information to begin the placement process. After submitting an application, a recruiter will be in touch to discuss your career goals in greater detail.
Travel Positions
Travel healthcare careers are exciting, challenging, and financially rewarding. Basic requirements include: at least 2-3 years of experience; a license in the state you wish to work (or a compact license). Once you meet the basic requirements, we have the ability to find a travel assignment that fits within your individual career goals.
Because we are partnered closely with healthcare facilities nationwide, you can travel anywhere you like within the United States. If your license is limited, we can help you get licensed in a particular state. Travel jobs tend to be seasonal, and the demand for certain professions and specialties can fluctuate.
Assignments can last anywhere from 4 to 16 weeks, often longer. Much of that depends on personal preference. Travelers are able to extend assignments well beyond their initial contract length in most cases.
Yes, many people travel with pets. We work with temporary housing to ensure you and your furry friend(s) are as comfortable as possible.
If you’re having a problem on the road, we’ll do what we can to help. We are readily available to assist you 24/7, ensuring you arrive safely to your destination.
For medical emergencies, contact 911 immediately.
If you are an experienced healthcare professional with a solid resume, strong work ethic, and a desire to travel, there are many readily available positions waiting for you. A well-qualified candidate will remain as busy as he/she wants to be.
Permanent Placement
We already have established relationships with healthcare facilities nationwide. This means your application will be seen by the right people much faster than if you apply directly and wait for results. We can also help you search for positions that are not listed on traditional job boards. Surprisingly, 50 percent of the positions available to healthcare workers are never advertised; therefore you wouldn’t be able to find them in traditional searches. In addition, we provide you with resume advice, facility details, units and locations, interview tips, and relocation assistance.
That depends on the time frame. If you have recently applied to a facility (within the past year), it may hinder us from representing you to that same facility. If it has been more than a year, most institutions will allow us to present you for consideration. We encourage you not to apply directly to facilities when working with us, as this could reduce the effectiveness of our services.
You receive benefits directly from the facility with which we place you. Our involvement is to identify, screen, prepare, and negotiate contracts. Once you accept a position, you work directly for that facility as any other permanent employee.
New Grads
Travel healthcare positions usually require a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in order to qualify. We encourage new graduates to start their careers working full-time. Once you’ve had a few years of experience, we’d love the opportunity to work with you.
Client Services
Our staffing consultants are available 24/7 to ensure you are able to reach someone. With a network of thousands of ready-to-work healthcare professionals, we are almost always able to provide your facility the staff you need.
Our thorough pre-employment screening process, which includes competency tests and a background check, ensure your facility is matched with top-qualifying candidates.
Our partners have saved thousands of dollars each year by eliminating recruitment fees from their budget, including advertisements and valuable time spent reviewing resumes and interviewing candidates.
