Can I Get Into UPenn With a 3.7 GPA? Admitted UPenn students have achieved a 3.8–4.0 GPA or equivalent in their high school years. Getting admitted to UPenn with a 3.7 GPA may be challenging, so you should aim for higher SAT/ACT scores.

For UPenn, the acceptance rate for applicants w/ SAT scores above 1450 was 10% for Early Decision and 16% for Regular Decision. Meanwhile, for my school, the Princeton acceptance rate (of applicants with 1450+ SAT) was 50% for Early Action compared to 4% for regular decision.

A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is required. International transcripts: Applicants who have attended high school, college, or university outside the US are required to have a course-by-course credential evaluation (with grade point average and course levels) performed by an outside evaluation service.

You should also have a 4 GPA or higher. If your GPA is lower than this, you need to compensate with a higher SAT/ACT score. For a school as selective as Harvard, you'll also need to impress them with the rest of your application.

Test Scores and GPA

The average GPA of the Wharton class of 2025 is 3.6, the average GMAT score is 728, and the average GRE score is 324.

Those who are admitted typically have GPAs that align with UPenn's average. If your GPA falls within the range of 3.8–4.0, you could potentially offset it with a high SAT or ACT score, or with exceptional extracurricular involvement or a compelling personal statement.

Mathematically 7/10 is better than average, and therefore we feel like it is a good score. However, when it comes to ratings and reviews, 7/10 is mediocre, because people are generally nice, and rarely willing to give other people or services a truly low score. Ultimately what this leads to is standing still.

As those above have mentioned, Wharton is definitely not “significantly harder” to get into than the College of Arts and Sciences. It is, however, safe to assume that Wharton's acceptance rate is marginally lower than the overall Penn acceptance rate which is said to most closely mirror the College's acceptance rate.
