I got the Arris Worldbox 2.0 with Spectrum guide. Are the clients used for whole home DVR service? I was under the understanding that WH DVR was not available. I hope it's not a dumb question. But what are the client boxes used for? |

stxrmfxl Member 2019-Sep-19 4:54 pm I called them clients because the past 3 techs that i've been around that installed these boxes called them "clients." Theoretically, it will be a client at some point, because at startup, the 101/110 flashes a "REC" light on the front for 5 seconds. Whether or not it will be used for either cloud DVR or Spectrum's own implementation of whole home services is yet to be seen. |

It's just me here in a 1 bedroom apt. I'm going to get a long HDMI cable and a bidirectional HDMI switch and just use that. I can then have my "homemade" whole home DVR to watch where I left off in the bedroom. |

| ram1220 | ram1220 to stxrmfxl Member 2019-Sep-23 4:14 pm I have had Spectrum for less than 1 week. In my opinion the Worldbox 2.0 and Spectrum guide/software is not ready for prime time yet. I am having numerous issues and am just about ready to take the box back to Spectrum. I have set my shows to record new episodes only. But when I go back and check them they have automatically been switched to all episodes. So I try to change it back to new episodes only and I get an error message "Unable to save. Try again later. Reference code GDVR-1006." Extremely annoying. Last night all of my shows that recorded yesterday had a recorded date of Sept 23. Yesterday was actually Sept 22. Just tired of all the error messages popping up when trying to do something with the DVR. Is there some place I can go to request some help with this? I called Spectrum but all they could do was tell me to reboot the DVR. Not too helpful. I really want to like this service and get it to work. But I am about to call it quits. |

stxrmfxl Member 2019-Sep-23 7:52 pm If and when you go change the box tell them you have a TV that doesn’t have HDMI. They will give you one of the legacy boxes. They always swap worldbox with another one unless they cant. Just make an excuse like “my tv broke and the only other one I have had a/v ports” |

stxrmfxl Member 2019-Nov-6 10:51 pm I think Spectrum is waiting for their next gen D3.1 modems to come out. Expecting 2.5G ethernet ports *at least*. Unfortunately I don't think modems have to pass through FCC stuff since they don't have any "radios" or anything that really causes much interference like Wi-Fi devices do so nobody can really go hunting through any FCC docs for that stuff. |

I went to the Specturm Store in Dallas, the new one that opened and saw the new cable box. Right now I have all Arris Equipment. For Phone/Internet I have the TG1672. Cable Box is the DCX3600-M. I kinda want to keep it because I think I can record more than 2 things at the same time. So was wondering if it's worth updating my stuff? |

FPS. I'm going to negotiate tomorrow and I'm trying to find out if this modem is the best they have to offer, or should I accept the new one they will rent me. my bufferbloat is mush less than my neibors. he has the surfboard and a nighthawk router. My router is the Linksys wrt1200ac. what or how do I get or need for a modem? I'm getting my butt kicked online from lagging. it will be good for 10 minutes then sucks. all in all Do I accept the Modem they will offer? or keep the Arris tm822a? thank you!! |

DocDrew Premium Member 2020-Feb-19 7:31 pm If you're paying a modem rental fee you're on a legacy package no longer offered. Your old package is grandfathered in. The TM822a is old. It's an 8 channel DOCSIS 3.0 modem/eMTA, no router function. Spectrum shouldn't offer all in one modems/routers anymore. Usually they offer their DOCSIS 3.1 modems rentals free of charge. Speed (bandwidth) and latency (lag) are 2 different things. In general getting more speed won't reduce latency. Bufferbloat is really best controlled by your own router settings. Really you have to do more troubleshooting to figure out the lagging. It may be a signal problem or problem with something downloading on your network. |

In L-TWC and L-BHN areas, there are Cisco, Arris, and Samsung models that have six tuners and run the superior and stable Navigator guide. The Worldbox models (110 and 210) have the buggy Spectrum guide and only four tuners. |
